Pre-Operative Medical Clearance

Pre-surgical preparation is important to make sure that your body is ready for a surgery. At Family Diagnostic Clinic, Pre-Operative Medical Clearance services are provided to the patients and the surgeons so that they have a better understanding of the overall health prior to a surgery.

Full Pre-Surgery Medical Examination aids in determining medical risks, updating on the current conditions and ensuring the need of any other precautions. We aim to accommodate safer surgery mechanisms by providing prompt tests, proper examination and individual advice. Trying to get ready for a minor outpatient procedure or a more sophisticated surgery, our staff conducts the Surgical Clearance Exam in a pertinent and ethical atmosphere.

We are devoted to facilitate patients in going into surgery more prepared, having less doubts, and enhanced coordination among the medical professionals.

Importance of Pre-Surgery Evaluation

Pre-surgery test is not just routine paperwork. It is one of the most vital parts of ensuring that surgery is done in as safe a way as possible. There are many patients who might have some underlying problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart-related issues, breathing difficulties, reaction to medication, or past surgical concerns that should be examined in advance.

Through this assessment, patients also have an opportunity to discuss symptoms, medical history, allergies, medications and substances that may affect surgery or anesthesia.

The exam helps avoid wasting time or unforeseen complications since it detects areas that require consideration beforehand. At our clinic, we go through each clearance exam with utmost responsibility to ensure that patients are informed, supported and well prepared.

Tests Included in Pre-Operative Exams

Surgical Clearance Exam depend on the surgical procedure, age of the patient, surgical history, and the needs of the surgeon. The common pre-operative examination includes blood tests, ECG and health risk assessment. The required examinations are conducted effectively in our clinic and the process is both organized and patient-friendly.

Blood Tests

Pre-operative clearance often involves blood tests such as complete blood count. These blood tests can be used to estimate blood counts, blood sugar levels, kidney function levels, electrolytes, clotting, and more.

Blood work demonstrate some underlying concerns that might require attention prior to surgery and is useful information to both doctor/surgeon and the surgical team.

An ECG may be advised in many patients with a history of cardiac issues, age-related issues or other specific surgical needs. It is a test used to assess the rhythm of the heart and determine possible heart issues prior to surgery.

Provided with ECG testing, our doctors conduct an expert medical examination including recent medications, chronic illnesses, surgical history, and overall pre-packaged preparation to the intended procedure.

A Health Risk Assessment is a tool that combines all findings. We examine your individual medical history, present condition, underlying diagnoses and any risk factors which could be involved in surgery or recovery.

This gives us the opportunity to give you a fully informed Pre-Surgery Medical Evaluation and communicate effectively with your surgeon.
